Resources

The plan is to put some useful resources for physics students here. Hopefully it will grow over time

If you have any ideas for things to put here, tell me or send an email to unswphysoc@gmail.com Make the title something like "Website ideas" so it won't get lost

Latex

Latex is a markup language similar to html, but is specifically designed to make typesetting equations and laying out the page for a scientific paper easy. Once you learn how to se it, you'll never want to use "Word" again. Also, it is completely free so you can just download it and use it.

Installing
Windows

The easiest way is to install miktex, which includes everything you need, including an editor which makes it easy to compile the latex code.

Linux

Most linux distributions should have latex in their repositories, just learch for it. For example, in ubuntu, the package is called texlive.

If you use emacs, you may also want to install auctex, which adds latex support and is pretty good

Mac

No idea, I don't have a mac.
